This blog has been designed to provide information about the activities held at the social studies bilingual sections in CPI Tino Grandío (Guntín,Spain). The English language and Social Studies teachers have elaborated most of the resources you can see but our "auxiliares de conversa" also have their own page and posts. Therefore everyone is invited to have a look .

Emergency Services

When something serious happens we usually call the Emergency services to ask for help. In Spain we dial 112, in the USA 911.

HOW DOES THE EMERGENCY SERVICE WORK?
An operator replies and asks us the questions needed to provide adequate support:
  • What's your name?
  • What is wrong? / What exactly has happened?
  • Is anybody hurt?
  • What service do you require? (an ambulance/an emergency vehicule/firefighters/the police...)
  • What is your address? (necessary to send help)
Finally, the operator will tell us to calm down as help is on the way. On some occasions we may be told what to do while help arrives: get out of the car, help someone who is injured, etc.

TYPICAL EMERGENCIES:
  • Heart attack
  • Fire
  • Poison
  • Choke
  • Bleed
  • Unconscious
  • Burn
  • Car accident
  • Earthquake
  • Ambulance (I need an ambulance)
