We left Guntín at 8.45 on Thursday morning. Then, we went to Ferrol by bus. It took almost two hours. Later, we were divided into two groups and visited an Ecology Classroom there. We had to give ideas about how to solve problems in a city without energy sources. After that, we went to a museum, Museo da Construción Naval where we had a guide who explained the history of the docks and ship building in Ferrol.
After this visit, we went to a ship and we were soaked because it was raining cats and dogs. Then we had lunch in a ship going to Mugardos. There we saw Mugardos, went to the beach and then to a cafeteria. Later, we returned to Ferrol and went to St. Felipe's castle. We saw the castle, investigated around, saw the cannons and then returned to Ferrol by ship.
In the evening we went to Madalena's area in Ferrol, which is a historical neighbourhood and then went to our hostel in Alvarella by bus. The food there was very good and there were two very cute dogs. We had soup, steak with chips and yoghurt for dinner.
At night, after dinner, we celebrated Jenny's birthday and gave her a candy cake. Her room was filled with balloons. We celebrated until 12, when we went to bed and kept talking until the small hours.
On Friday we woke up at 7.30 and then we got dressed and had a shower. At about 8.30 we had breakfast (we could choose toast, jam, biscuits, pinapple juice, fruit, hot chocolate, coffee and milk). After this, we cleared our bedrooms and then we had a talk about the hostel with the guides. They explained how it worked.
Later, we went to A Capela ethnographic museum by bus. When this activity finished, we started the route to Fragas do Eume. We walked up to the Caaveiro monastery where we had lunch and there the guides told us about the monument. At 3 o'clock we continued our route and we finally walked for about 11 km. During the route the guides explained about that protected area: the landscape, the forests, animals, etc. At about 6 we took the bus and drove to a service area to buy food and drinks. Finally, we returned to Guntín where our parents were waiting for us.
It was an incredible, wet experience.
